Introduction
The Japanese Cultural Society was founded in 1963.
On 26 August 1964, the Society was approved by the Registrar of Societies and later published in the Government Gazette as a non-profit organization.
The founding members strongly believed that language learning is a gateway towards learning the culture of a country. Gradually, in March 1966, a language study committee was formed. The Society started the ‘Japanese language course’ as one of its activity. We began with 3 Japanese language classes under the assistance of the Japan Embassy.
