Skoolopedia is seeking a Content Strategist. Your responsibility includes maintaining in-house content direction, quality, editorial calendar, and the occasional client’s content planning. We are looking to hire writers that are active in the early childhood education community! We’d love to cover topics on the blog that we know mums are discussing in the online community.

Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for finding new trends. Gathering and generating story points, helping out with features, and contributing as needed to a variety of projects.
• This will involve extensive independent reporting and research, as well as close collaboration with the Skoolopedia Content Team.
• Work with the creative, community management, media & planning teams to ensure timely execution of all requests and initiatives.

Requirements

• Exceptional writing, editing, and grammar skills.
• Strong knowledge of SEO and how to write for search engines.
• Ability to write in a variety of tones and styles for different types of readers.
• Exceptional interviewing skills, ability to take a one hour interview and turn it into multiple pieces of content.
• The ability to write at least 5 great blog articles per week.
• A strong understanding of all major and current social media platforms.
• The ability to layout content into slide decks, infographics, ebooks, case studies, and more.
• The ability to learn and apply very quickly.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• The desire to advance to a leadership position in an organization.
• A love for reading and learning.
• A willingness to go above and beyond to help clients and teammates.

Qualification

• A degree or comparable work experience in journalism, communication, or related field.
• Two years of copy-editing experience. Preferably at a news website.
• Familiarity with AP style, content-management systems, social media and content marketing.
• Familiarity with web publishing applications like WordPress is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
• Basic familiarity with HTML.
• Superior communication skills, both verbally and written.
