Arise Kindergarten @ Bukit Timah

Arise Kindergarten is registered with the Ministry of Education in 2002. The kindergarten is solely owned by the Church of Singapore (Bt Timah). A Management Committee was appointed to oversee the operations of the kindergarten.

We believe that every child is a unique individual who has the potential to become a confident and independent person, enthusiastic about life, when given a caring and conducive learning environment to grow in.

We are therefore committed to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences that are meaningful, interesting and enriching to all children, to enhance their disposition to learn. We also believe that working collaboratively with each child’s family and the community agencies will strengthen the nurturance of the individual child’s development.

Program

Our program is bilingual (English and Chinese), and includes a combination of small group and large group teachings, formal and informal activities, investigations, and projects that allow children to work on their own and in groups.


Approach of Teaching

The kindergarten emphasises a child-centred, process-oriented hands-on approach whereby children’s choices, decisions and works are respected.
Teachers teach, direct and provide appropriate facilitation to encourage an inquisitive, creative and critical mind, cultivate a love for learning, and develop in children a positive attitude towards school.

Learning centres are set up to extend children’s knowledge and skills, and allow them to be independent and confident learners.
