History & Background
At “Our Children’s House“, our children are encouraged to explore and discover new things, thereby achieve their fullest potential. We foster children’s innate sense of curiosity and a love for learning. We also nurture their self-esteem as well as encourage a balance between the needs of oneself and respect for others. This will be done through well-planned activities by our well-trained staff and a conducive and inviting environment.
Pedagogy:-
"Bringing the world to the children’ indicates that here at “Our Children’s House” we adopt an Eclectic approach to teaching and implement the International Preschool Curriculum. It is delivered using various successful teaching methods that :
-Encourage children’s independence and self-direction. Where children are valued and allowed to learn at their own pace to make connections with their learning.
-Engage children in symbolic play and help them to learn by manipulating symbols. Participation in hands-on activities that include hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting & touching can enhance a child’s potential to learn by putting the child in the centre of this educational experience.
-Allow children to have fun and be actively involved to help develop their learning skills more quickly.
-Inspire children to think creatively, critically, and actively in preparation for future academic learning. Teachers scaffold children’s active learning and experimenting as children explore the world around them.
-Allow children to make their choices in the classroom, while interacting with a wide variety of materials, ideas and people.
-Value children’s diversity and respect for themselves, others and the world around them.
-Help children to be collaborators, problem-solvers and team builders to know and understand negotiating skills, turn taking skills and develop leadership qualities.
-Inspire children to be thinkers and philosophers by encouraging questioning & exploration as children start to make connections between ideas, thoughts, and the surrounding environment.
Education Philosophy: We believe children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. Children are curious from infancy and have a desire to learn from their environment and those around them. When children are encouraged to interact with their peers and adults in positive ways, they feel safe to explore their surroundings.
