introduction

Crestar School of Dance started as a dance department under Yamaha Music School Singapore in 1977. Over the years, we have grown to become one of the largest private dance schools in Singapore.

Our dance curriculum is developed by an international team of professionals in dance and music. Students are encouraged to take the international dance examinations conducted by recognised institutions such as the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD), to further their dance journey.

Crestar School of Dance stands out with our high-quality dance teachers and instructors who are recruited through stringent selection processes. Regular upgrading and training are also made available to continuously improve their skills and knowledge.

The School offers students a diverse range of dance programmes. From our core Classical Ballet, we have expanded to include Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Rhythmic Gymnastics and more.

Part of the School’s mission is to nurture holistic students by encouraging them to participate in community and charity events. Ample opportunities are also given to students to learn and upgrade through competitions, workshops and overseas exchange programmes.

In October 2014, Crestar School of Dance expanded into China, launching its first dance school, Crestar Ballet Academy, in Wangjing SOHO, Beijing. The Academy offers an invigorating platform for students from China and international students to learn dancing and enjoy exchange of cultural experiences.

Crestar School of Dance and the Crestar Ballet Academy’s Artistic Director, Mr Thomas Li Tao, has a vision for the School and Academy – to be a premier dance destination for all aspiring dancers.
