Working at Newcastle Education Center has been a frustrating experience. The principal, Kwang, seems to care more about profits than the well-being of students or staff. If you're feeling unwell, good luck getting a day off. They expect you to show up, claiming they're "short-staffed," and refuse to hire more help because they see it as a waste of money.
When you mention wanting to quit, things get even worse. They’ll pile on extra work to make you miserable, and if you decide to leave, they start calculating a hefty penalty fee—usually not less than SGD 9,000. It feels like a threat hanging over your head.
If you do get sick, don’t expect any compassion. You need to provide a medical certificate from a Polyclinic by 11 AM. That means dragging yourself out of bed, waiting in line for hours just to get a simple checkup, when you could easily go to a nearby clinic. It’s all just added stress when you really need to rest.
Overall, it’s a tough place to work, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive environment.
And remind. When you see a review from “management” saying that the bad comments are slander and claim that those comments are from bad teachers that have left the center. They try to salvage such situations. Think. Even if there are a lot of bad comments, why would there be less good ones but bad ones only? A company review with only 1 star ratings is just too pathetic.

I have been with this tuition centre for some time, my experience with the admin staff have been good. They are friendly and approachable. The facilities are also reasonably decent. They have proper visualisers and projectors which is useful for teaching and learning. However, I find that this centre lack original curriculum content. This centre used off the shelf assessment books and photocopied practice papers. The turnover rate of tutors in my experience is also quite a concern. Feel that things can be improved.
