Course Description

The English for Kids course focuses on the General English skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.  Topics within the course include vocabulary and expressions related to sport and outdoor activities, clothing, parts of the body, family members, school and classroom language, competitions, and performances, and students will be equipped with practical English expressions, vocabulary, verb patterns and structures that are useful in academic and social situations.

Expected Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to introduce themselves, ask questions, talk about the various topics mentioned above, listen to real-world conversations and stories for sequence and gist, and indicate their preferences, as well as write a poem, description, story, personal recount, and instructions.  They will also be able to read short stories, poems, and simple newspaper articles.  Students will take a test at the end of each week to measure their mastery of the skills covered that week.
