Introduction
Our student care services support the needs of families who require supervision and guidance for their primary school-going children. Our children attend our centres during off-school hours between 1 pm and 6.30 pm on weekdays during the school term, and 7.30 am and 6.30 pm during school holidays.
In keeping with our adage of ‘a child is more than a student’, children from Morning Star are treated as unique individuals and not just students.
While the values embraced by society can change over time, virtues are fundamental and define what makes us truly human. Morning Star places great emphasis on character formation through the acquisition of virtues. The programme looks at honing the cognitive abilities of our children, their emotional development, social skills, character formation and physical development through creative and engaging activities in a conducive environment.
Our Student Care Facilitators create interesting curriculum-based learning stations and theme-based activities to facilitate children’s learning through creative and interactive ways. These activities challenge each child to discover and enjoy learning in a fun and meaningful way, in addition to teaching them problem-solving and life-skills.
Through our values-centric programme, preventive-teaching approach and through experiential learning, we encourage children to discover their own strengths and abilities. It is our hope that the children enrolled in Morning Star have a joyful childhood as they grow into adults who will inspire and invigorate the community of the future.
We believe that we can guide our children best by working closely with their parents. Parents are regularly updated on their children’s progress and invited frequently to participate in our various family life and parent-child activities.
Our children benefit the most when their parents actively involve themselves in our programmes. This also aligns with Morning Star’s vision of enriching and strengthening family relationships in Singapore.
