This open house invites children to discover the wonders of nature through creative expression, using natural elements, light, and textures to bring their imagination to life. From crafting mosaics with fallen leaves and twigs to exploring the interplay of light and shadow, every station is designed to spark curiosity and artistic discovery. Join us for a hands-on experience where little artists transform the nature into unique masterpieces!

Station names and descriptions:

Station 1: Nature’s Mosaics

At this station, children will create stunning nature-inspired mosaics using leaves, twigs, and seeds. Through arranging loose parts, they will explore patterns, shapes, and textures, transforming simple materials into intricate works of art. This hands-on activity encourages creativity and appreciation of nature’s “fallen treasures” such as leaves, seeds and twigs.

Station 2: Lighting Nature

Using translucent materials, children will explore the magical effects of light and shadow. By layering different shapes and materials, they will discover how colours blend, interact, and transform—just like rainbows in nature.

Station 3: Nature’s Collagraph

Children will experiment with collagraph techniques, using natural textures like leaves and bark to create stunning prints. By layering, rubbing, and painting, they will bring the patterns of the natural world to life. This activity encourages sensory exploration, artistic expression, and a new way of seeing the beauty of textures in nature.
