How this Preschool Masters Reading and Writing for Children

Play-based Zoophonics

Phonics is, hands-down, the best way to teach children to start reading and recognising words. Phonics activities help young learners break words into their constituent sounds so they build their literacy skills, bit by bit, while accelerating their learning growth. Children learn the sounds of the alphabet and move on to more advanced concepts through an easily understood, multi-sensorial and evidence-based approach.

The system that we use, called Zoo-phonics®, uses a holistic and dynamic approach, involving “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinaesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching). This highly-acclaimed method is both playful and effective, and helps young children acquire a head start in their early literacy. Being highly play-based makes this programme appropriate for even the youngest of babies and toddlers.
