To qualify as a pre-school teacher in Singapore, you will need at least a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or Diploma in ECCE. You can either be an English Language Teacher (English as first language) or a Second Language Teacher (Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Non-Tamil Indian Language (NTIL).

- At least 3 ‘O’ level credits in 3 different subjects
- At least C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level 2nd Language
- At least 5 ‘O’ Level credits in 5 different subjects
- At least B4 in GCE ‘O’ Level 2nd Language OR C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level 2nd Language + HSK Requirements*
*C6+HSK Requirements are for CL Teachers only. A pass at HSK Level 6 for written test with minimum score of 60 in each of the 3 components AND a pass at HSK Advanced level for the oral test
